Google Chromecast is a tool to make a tv smart.
Mainly to play YouTube and mirror your phone
to your tv. Just that. As most tv's are smart I think
this is not necessary at all.

Mrs H and I are, by now, reluctant experts on screen 'mirroring' and 'casting'. having gone through the expensive process of purchasing Androiod and iOS apps that promise much and deliver nothing, and now this purported hardware / software solution from Google.
It's not MyMemory's fault that the "casting" works only fitfully (and far better using an Android device to a non-smart TV than an Apple iPad to that same TV) but it's a shame that Google's massively clunky software, 'Home', has to be installed in the first place )on my Androiod Samsung and Mrs H's Apple iPad).
Conclusion we've reached is that 'screen mirroring' that's dependable, easy and instant to achieve doesn't yet exist, despite all the promises made for it.
Now that tablets are stripped of fundamentally useful components, we've gone back to our ancient Asus Transformer from which we continue to run a micro USB cable 14ft across the lounge to the TV set. It may not be oh-so fashionably and oh-so trendily "wireless", but then, "wireless" doesn't work; whereas wired, certainly does.
No, we can't recommend Chromecast to anyone. though as ever, we're obliged to My Memory for everything that Chromecast isn't: ease of use, reliability, fast speed of service.
