With the boom in Raspberry Pi sales in recent years, it’s been realised that the RPi can do more than one task at a time without suffering with bottlenecks. So choosing the right MicroSD card is obviously essential.... right. Well nothing could be more truthful that that statement in my opinion. I personally have around 12 RPi’s around the house doing many boring tasks but the one thing that I’ve been meaning to do is have a fast, reliable and consistent memory card to act as an smb: server (Samba). I’ve got hundreds of DVD films and TV series and backing them up to a RPi running Samba needed a powerful and strong MicroSD card but it needed to be large and needed to be cheap. That’s why I choose the MyMemory 512gb MicroSD card for this particular project. Not only has it out performed other 64GB and 256gb MicroSD cards on my network it’s provided me with an opportunity to multitask too!! 385gb and still adding films and TV series to view on my Google Chrome TV stick via VLC player. This card is awesome, it’s running Grafana, FTP, TFTP and also acting as a Blynk server too and it’s not skipped a beat. Brilliant 10/10 ***** five stars for this card as it’s so blinking quick. I have a 1000mbps network and it can never be blamed for bottlenecks, only the RPi and the MicroSD card...... both are spot on. You can take a chance with buying from other sellers and auction sites but you won’t find seller branded cards as the MyMemory card and your gambling with getting a fake and you probably won’t realise it’s a fake unless you run Hw2test or fill the cars to capacity only to realise it’s a 64GB card masquerading as a 512gb and much of your data lost forever. Pay the little extra, get the real deal and genuine article and then see the benefits in years to come. 4 cups of posh coffee and your half way there! So have a caffeine break and treat yourself to a 512gb or 256gb (bought one of those too) from MyMemory and sit back and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.
